Gillian Doyle of Taylors Irish Night Dancers is the 2005 Kildare rose for the Rose of Tralee Festival

Gillian Doyle, 22, from Celbridge, represented Kildare at the 2005 Rose of Tralee Finals in August. Gillian performs at the all year round traditional music show at Taylors Three Rock pub beside Marlay Park in Rathfarnham and the pub is Gillian's official sponsor in the event.

She is no stranger to the big stage as the shows attract over 45,000 people of all nationalities each year. This Rose has just received an honours degree in Experimental Physics from UCD. She has been accepted for the Ph.D. programme.

Career ambitions for the 2005 Kildare Rose are to obtain her Ph.D. in biophysics, and develop laser technology.

Donal Cawley, Director of Taylors Three Rock says: "We're all thrilled Gillian has made it to the finals. She's been dancing with us for years; a stalwart of the dancing troupe. If the competition judges react to Gillian anything like our audiences she'll be hard to beat", Chauvinism, bad drivers and political hypocrisy are this bright Rose’s dislikes!
